Wallenpaupack Brewing Company Receives Three Medals At World Beer Awards For Second Consecutive Year

Hawley Hefeweizen & Paupack Cream Ale return for back-to-back wins with Grodziskie joining the action.

For the second year in a row, Wallenpaupack Brewing Company has taken home three medals at the World Beer Awards; claiming Gold Medals for Hawley Hefeweizen and Grodziskie with a Silver Medal finish for Paupack Cream Ale—2022’s World’s Best Cream Ale.

• Hawley Hefeweizen – This is the second year in which Hawley Hefeweizen has claimed the Gold Medal at the World Beer Awards in the Wheat Beer category. It was also named a Top 20 Beer of 2022 by Craft Beer & Brewing Magazine last year—only the third time a hefeweizen was given the honor.

• Grodziskie – Enjoying a Gold Medal finish at the World Beer Awards in the Specialty Beer category, WBC’s traditional Polish-style smoked wheat beer lovingly dubbed “Polish Champagne” also recently took Silver at the 2023 U.S. Beer Open.

• Paupack Cream Ale – After being named 2022’s World’s Best Cream Ale, WBC’s flagship returned to capture the Silver Medal for the Pale Beer category in 2023.

“Having three beers take Gold for the United States last year and then Paupack Cream Ale going on to win the World’s Best Cream Ale was such a thrill and it’s incredibly humbling and exciting to see another successful return from this global competition,” said Wallenpaupack Brewing Company’s Director of Business Administration and Development, Brad Beneski. “Especially seeing two of our beloved everyday flagships in Paupack Cream Ale and Hawley Hefeweizen getting repeat medals in consecutive years.”

The World Beer Awards is one of the world’s most internationally recognized and respected beer competitions. Gold Medalists in each category go on to compete against all other national winners at the finals in London for a chance to be crowned World’s Best in their respective categories—results of which will be announced on August 24th, 2023.

“Now we just wait and see how Hawley Hefeweizen and Grodziskie can fare against the other national winners in the final round,” Beneski said. “But, in any event, we are insanely proud of our brewing team for being recognized in such an amazing way for both their innovation and dedication to brewing consistently quality beer.”
