Wrong Crowd Beer To Open 15 Barrel Brewery And Kitchen In West Chester

Thankfully if you are located in or around West Chester, you have had the fortune of a strong craft beer scene as Chester County ranks as the fourth largest PA county for the number of craft breweries. And as the saying goes, the rich are getting richer.

We recently toured the future home of Wrong Crowd Beer with brewery owner Dan Shaw who is opening the space with lifelong friend Bob Bagonis. The brewery is planning to open a 5,000 square foot space at 342 Hannum Avenue.

What was once a former MMA gym will soon be turned into one of the areas local eateries (more on that later). The name Wrong Crowd, which we learned from Dan, was inspired by being at peace with being an outsider.

For locals to the area, you may have heard of Wrong Crowd in the past. The brewery began distributing its beer in May of 2017. Having produced more than 60 craft beers, according to Untappd. However, the story of the brewery goes well beyond that.

The two partners began their passion for craft beer through homebrewing on two-barrel fermenters. The duo now intends to upgrade that by opening this brewery with a 15 barrel brewhouse accompanied by 30 barrel fermenters.

A full variety of craft beer, along 24 rotating taps, will not be the only hand made items offered in the space. Along with the brewhouse, Wrong Crowd is also installing a kitchen on site. This will allow them to offer sandwiches, pizza, salads, appetizers and much more. Rounding out the menu will be kombucha, wine, draft cocktails, and craft sodas.

The brewery is still building out its space, as construction continues every day. To keep up with their growth make sure to follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
