Consumers Encouraged To ‘See What Business Have Planned’ To Celebrate 2022 Philly Beer Week

As we reported recently, the organization that runs Philly Beer Week announced that ‘Opening Tap’ (the week’s formal kick-off event) would be replaced with a simultaneous cheers day — effectively bringing to an end to (for 2022 at least) one of the cities more iconic beer festivals.

It would now appear that the entire Beer Week is moving to a less structured format. As you will see in the post below, Philly Loves Beer (the organizers of Philly Beer Week) is asking guests to follow along with a hashtag to learn

You can see the announcement made on Instragram below:

So what does that mean for the week? It would appear that it is incumbent on patrons and guests to follow their favorite Philadelphia area breweries and bars to see what they have planned. As of this writing the Philly Loves Beer website, which traditionally hosted a calendar of events, just lists pictures of participating businesses with no further details.

No word has been made on why Philly Loves Beer is moving away from a more structured and organized Beer Week. Nor has there been any comment on whether or not this will be the way Philly Beer Week operates moving forward. However, it is worth noting that Pittsburgh Craft Beer Week moved to a very similar style before they finally shut down and the Pittsburgh Brewers Guild took over.
