Oktoberfest season is officially upon us. With events taking place at craft breweries all across Pennsylvania. It’s in that spirit that the city of Phoenixville is celebrating with their first ever “Bridgetoberfest” on Friday, September 30th, and Saturday, October 1st.
For those not aware, Bridge Street (which runs through Phoenixville) had originally closed during the height of the COVID Pandemic when businesses and restaurants were only permitted to offer outdoor seating. The result became so successful that the inside out open air experience was born. A time from May to October when bridge street closes to traffic during specific times every weekend.
The closed street has found itself as the ideal location for an Oktoberfest celebration which will culminate at the Sly Fox Bridgetoberfest Biergarten. Biergarten seating will be scheduled in two-hour, reserved sessions—two sessions on Friday evening 9/30, and four sessions on Saturday 10/1.
$30 ticket/reservation gets you the following:
- 2-hour reservation and seat in the Biergarten tent situated in the lot at the corner of Main & Bridge Streets
- Half-liter Bridgetoberfest 2022 souvenir mug filled with Sly Fox Oktoberfest Lager
- Handmade Bavarian-style pretzel
- Traditional German music by The Emil Schanta Band (Friday) & Kermit “Dr. Squeezebox” Ohlinger (Saturday)
- A chance to win a trip for two (2) to Munich, Germany for Oktoberfest in 2023! (extra chances are also available for purchase through the online ticket page and live, at the event. YOU MUST BE PRESENT AT YOUR BIERGARTEN SESSION TO HAVE A CHANCE TO WIN.)
Prizes will be given to the winners of the stein-hoisting contest and best-dressed—so be sure to wear your traditional German attire! (tickets to participate in stein-hoist are available for purchase but very limited, and include an additional 1-liter souvenir mug filled with beer).
There will also be local Phoenixville businesses and street vendors offering food, crafts, family activities, and more! A portion of the proceeds benefits Phoenixville Area Community Services (PACS).
