Clarion River Brewing is getting ready to celebrate one of the freshest times of the year for PA craft beer with a special wet hop beer tasting event on September 27th.
Dubbed the “P(a)NW Fresh Fest”, the ticketed event will shine a spotlight on wet hop beers made with freshly harvested hops from Hop Stop Farm.
P(a)NW Fresh Fest will take place Sunday, September 27, at the brewery, with sessions at 3:00 and 5:30 p.m.
Tickets are available through Clarion River Brewing Company at clarionriverbrew.com/shop.
Doug and Debbie Clayton of Hop Stop Farm work to bring fresh hops to brewers across PA, and Clarion River is bringing together beer fans and breweries to celebrate their impact on the state’s craft beer industry.
Each of the 2 sessions will include a flight of fresh hop beers from breweries including Premise Brewing, Stick City Brewing Company, East End Brewing Company, and Aslin Beer Co.
Clarion River Brewing will be pouring an all-wet Cascade Pale Ale. Premise Brewing will bring a Wet Hopped Centennial Pale Ale, while Stick City Brewing Company will feature a Wet Comet IPA. Aslin Beer Co. Pittsburgh will also be pouring a Wet Cascade Pale Ale.
What Are Wet-Hopped Beers?
For those unfamiliar with wet hop beers, they are brewed with freshly harvested hops that go from the farm to the brewery without the drying and processing typically used for hops. The result can be a unique, fresh and intensely green hop character that makes these beers a seasonal favorite.
Clarion River says the event is an opportunity to support local hops, connect with fellow beer fans and experience the character of wet hop beers while they are at their freshest.
