Baseball Themed Pennsylvania Beers To Enjoy This Season (2022)

Major League Baseball is back (after an almost lockout) and Opening Day is April 7th. What goes well with baseball? Beer obviously!

We rounded up some baseball-themed Pennsylvania beers for you to enjoy the games with.

Allusion Brewing – One Inning More (Pale Ale)

Allusion Brewing keeps this baseball beer in stock all year. One Inning More is an American-style pale ale brewed with pale and victory malt and hopped with Willamette and Cascade hops. This beer is available on draft and in cans.

Burgh’ers Brewing – 1890 Lager

Burgh’ers Brewing pays homage to Pittsburgh’s very first baseball team, the “Pittsburgh Burghers”. They only played one year in 1890, and then became the Pirates. This crisp 4.7% American light lager is perfect for those hot days watching the bullpen try to hold the lead. This beer is available on draft and in cans.

Evil Genius – There’s No Crying In Baseball (IPA)

Evil Genius brings this one back every season, and it’s hard not to keep repeating the line from A League of Their Own. This Mango IPA clocks in at 6% and is hopped with Amarillo, Vic Secret, and Mosaic. This beer is available in cans & bottles.

Fourscore Beer – Big League Brew (Bubblegum Fruited Sours)

Fourscore brought back Big League Brew, 6% bubblegum fruited sours, after about 2 years. The flavors for the 2022 release are Grape, Green Apple, Strawberry, and Blue Raspberry. One of each flavor is included in a mixed four-pack called the Home Run Edition. The mixed packs are available as of the first week of April, at the brewery in Gettysburg.

Newtown Brewing – Juuust A Bit Outside (Fruited Sour Ale)

“Juuust a Bit Outside” is a 6.6% fruited sour ale kettle soured with Lactobacillus. Each year Newtown chooses a different fruit for it! Last year’s version was conditioned on Madagascar Vanilla Bean and a load of Peach and Passion Fruit purees. This “wild thing” is a tart, refreshing brew perfect for watching the ball game.

Recon Brewing – “Beers Of Dreams” – 3 Beer Release

Recon Brewing is once again releasing beers for the “Beers of Dreams” Series. All three are solid baseball movie references and make us want to go watch Field of Dreams a few more times. All three beers will be available on draft and in cans.

If You Build It – this 8% double hazy IPA features a huge amount of the New Zealand hop Riwaka and a pillow-soft mouthfeel. Tropical and citrus notes and aromas.

Ease His Pain – a Soft 8% Double Hazy IPA with double dry hopping of Idaho 7 and Strata hops. Grapefruit and dank fruit notes on the nose and palate with full body.

Go The Distance – this 8% double hazy IPA is loaded with a double dry-hopping of Idaho 7 and Enigma hops. Bold tropical and dank aromas overpower your senses and the soft, full-body hangs on the pallet.

Rotunda Brewing released these two beers, with a portion of each going to help the North/South Lebanon Little League fund a home run fence for South Lebanon’s field.

Ten7 Brewing – Big Hoppi (Triple IPA) & Whiz Kid (Double IPA)

Crushing the high heat, Big Hoppi is an 11% triple IPA. Brewed with Kohatu, Motueka, Cashmere, and Citra, this tropical mix is delicious. If you know Ten7’s triples, the ABV is hidden well.

New to Ten7’s “baseball brewer series” this year is Whiz Kid, an 8.5% double IPA. Brewed with Motueka, Nelson Sauvin, Cashmere, and Citra, this beer is bursting with flavor.

Grab both of these in cans at the brewery, or get it shipped anywhere in PA!
