Brewers Association Announce Top 50 Producing Craft Breweries For 2021; 3 From PA Make The List

It would appear as if craft beer is rebounding positively from the 2020 pandemic. The Brewers Association has released its list of top-producing craft breweries for 2021. And in the report, they found that “the overall beer market grew 1% by volume in 2021. Retail dollar value was estimated at $26.9 billion, representing 26.8% market share and 21% growth over 2020.

Craft brewer sales rebounded in 2021, lifted by the return of draught and at-the-brewery traffic,” confirmed Bart Watson, chief economist, Brewers Association. Watson went on to say “however, the mixed performance across business models and geographies as well as production levels that still lag 2019 suggest that many breweries remain in recovery mode. Add in continuing supply chain and pricing challenges, and 2022 will be a critical year for many brewers.

Powering some of this growth were three breweries from Pennsylvania who have found themselves on the list, with the keystone state maintaining the top spot.

Pottsville’s very own Yuengling Brewing has yet again taken the overall spot as having produced the most craft beer throughout the United States. It’s also worth noting that Yuengling comes in at #7 among all breweries both craft and macro.

Tröegs Independent Brewing finds itself on this list at the #24 spot (dropping four spots from the previous year). Meanwhile, Artisanal Brewing Ventures (which is comprised of Victory Beer, Sixpoint and Southern Tier) stayed steady at the #8 spot just as they did the year before.
