Brü Daddy’s Wins At US Open Beer Championship For 2nd Year In a Row

BRÜ DADDY’S Brewing Co. announced today it is the recipient of a Bronze Award at the 2021 U.S. Open Beer Championship for its barrel aged Odd Quad of Todd.  The entry competed in the Barrel-Aged Quad/Belgian Dark Ale category.  Last year, BRÜ DADDY’S took home a Silver Award for its Black Sheep Schwarzbier.

The U.S. Open Beer Championship is an annual international brewing competition and is one of the top three beer competitions in the United States.  Beers are submitted from all over the world and rated by a panel of judges.  This year, over 8,000 beers representing 140 different styles of beer were entered in the competition. There were only five other Pennsylvania breweries that received awards, Desperate Times Brewing (Carlisle, PA), Wallenpaupack Brewing (Hawley, PA), ShawneeCraft Brewing (Delaware, PA), Wolf Brewing (Mechanicsburg, PA), and Auroch’s Brewing (Emsworth, PA).

BRÜ DADDY’S barrel-aged Odd Quad of Todd was designed and brewed by Head Brewer, Todd Reinhardt.  “The beer was aged for six months in a port wine barrel that was also used by our friends at 8 Oaks Distillery for aging their rye whiskey,” said Reinhardt, who also designed the flagship Haze Daddy IPA and Hamilton Street Helles Lager, both very popular beers in the BRÜ DADDY’S lineup.

BRÜ DADDY’S recently inked deals with both the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs for naming rights at the craft beer bars at PPL Center and Coca Cola Park.  BRÜ DADDY’S flagship beers, Haze Daddy IPA and Hamilton St. Helles Lager, are on tap at each bar along with rotating beers.

BRÜ DADDY’S Brewing Co. opened in downtown Allentown across from the PPL Center in November 2019 and began canning their beer for to-go sales in November 2020.  The surreal label art of each beer plays off the mural at BRÜ DADDY’S and was designed by Denton Burrows, a NYC commercial street artist with ties to Lehigh University in Bethlehem.

BRÜ DADDY’S Brewing Co. touts their GOOD BEER, REAL FOOD and COOL VIBES and has developed a reputation for serving food that’s as good as the beer.  Hand-crafted, wood-fired artisan pizza is a favorite, but the scratch kitchen menu also features shareables, handhelds, burgers, wings and salads.  The outdoor beer garden at is a popular spot downtown with authentic Bavarian beer garden tables and overhead heaters.  Reservations are recommended at http://www.brudaddysbrewingco.com or www.opentable.com.
