Complete Details On The Week Long East End Brewing 15 Year Anniversary Celebration

Very few breweries in Pennsylvania can say they’re celebrating a decade and a half of operation. But that is exactly the case as East End Brewing celebrates their 15 year anniversary all week long, starting on Tuesday, December 10th. Join them at their brewery on Julius Street in Pittsburgh for the celebration.

The story of East End Brewing is a well told one. In quick summation; after 9 years of home brewing, Scott Smith, East End owner, quit his job in engineering and broke into the world of commercial craft beer. The brewery sold its first beer in 2004 and has been a staple of the Pittsburgh beer landscape ever since.

The party starts with a 100% guest tap takeover! If you didn’t know, East End Brewing has fifteen taps on their wall (sensing a theme here). So they thought it would be cool to invite the FIRST FIFTEEN beer producers in Allegheny County to guest tap all FIFTEEN!.

The following breweries will be pouring at the brewery (in chronological order of opening in the county):

• Penn Brewery
• Church Brew Works
• Rock Bottom Brewery
• East End Brewing
• Hofbrauhaus
• Strange Roots Experimental Ales
• Red Star Kombucha
• Aurochs Brewery
• Costar Brewery
• Roundabout Brewery
• Hop Farm Brewery
• Hitchhiker Brewery
• The Brew Gentlemen
• Grist House Craft Brewery
• Spoonwood Brewing Company

If you didn’t come for the guest beer, you are in luck. East End will have a full offering of at least a dozen of their own beers in cans and bottles, freshly filled and nicely priced, just like when you have it on tap.

But, as they say, that’s not all! East End will offer a very special cocktail as well. As the story goes, roughly three years ago, the brewery’s good friends at Maggie’s Farm distilled a batch of their Gratitude Barleywine, and tucked it away in oak to age into whiskey. In collaboration with their in-house soft drink wizards at the Barmy Soda Company, they’re pleased to offer you a pre-mixed cocktail of fresh ginger, lime, simple syrup, and Gratitude whiskey.

Again….there’s more! The brewery has also put together a whole bunch of beer-type specials so you can take that celebration home with you.

They’ve been brewing their Gratitude Barleywine with the exact same recipe since the beginning. So it seems fitting to say thanks to you, their GOOD BEER Fans, for supporting them throughout these many years by busting out some sweet deals for their anniversary.

All week long $20 will get you a 4-pack of ANY vintage of our bourbon barrel-aged vintage Gratitude Barleywine in 16oz cans. And $15 (there’s that number again) will get you ANY vintage of their Gratitude Barleywine in 22oz bottles.

As luck would have it, they will also be ready to randomly draw the neighborhood for their FIFTEENTH neighborhood in their YOU ARE HERE Neighborhood Beer series… during the week long celebration.

The drawing will take place Thursday, December 12th at 7:00 pm, which is the day of the actual anniversary. Oh yeah, that’s when they’ll cut the cake too.

Seems like a lot, huh? Cause it is! Plan on attending? Make sure to join the Facebook event page to keep up with all details as they are released.
