When you cover Pennsylvania beer you have to cover the good, bad and ugly, right? Unfortunately it can’t be all brewery openings and new releases. Which brings us to today’s news. As seen in the tweet below, Hatfield based Imprint Beer Company is suing Hard Selzer producer Smooj over trademark infringement.

As the tweet above shows, what is potentially fueling this suit is the fact that the Montgomery county brewery has become synonymous over the years for their “Schmoojee” line of beers.
You can read the docket here, which looks to have been filed April 16th, 2021. As of this writing the suit appears to be less than a week old and not much more information is available. We will update with more as it is released.
