Update as of 12:00 on December 5th: Imprint has now deleted their original post on social media addressing the issue reported below as well as begun attacking users online.

It would appear as Imprint Beer Co in Hatfield is significantly scaling back production. The brewery recently posted on social media that theirs plans are to “stop beer production in Hatfield” citing economic reasons. The news comes shortly after the owners of the brewery abruptly closed another restaurant venture named Serum in West Chester, just 6 months after opening.

The announcement goes on to state that the Hatfield Municipal Authority imposed hefty surcharges on the brewery’s water usage and wastewater volumes, adding a significant financial burden. You can read the full post here. [Note: this post has now been deleted but screenshots can be found here]

This post comes a day after a flurry of social media activity where it was shared that the brewing company let go of staff with little notice just weeks before the Christmas holiday. According to posts online the former staff was given minimal notice to the firing, a practice that some people online saying is common for the brewery. With one person saying “I got fired on a 38 second phone call.”

In the social media post the brewery confirms the firing of staff by saying they “had to make the very difficult decision to let our production team and packaging staff go.” While the post does offer respect and condolences for the former staff, many comments online note a hostile work environment from ownership who had little to no respect for their employees.

The announcement mentions how Imprint does not have plans to close as sales continue to “climb briskly”. The brewery goes on to say that they are actively seeking a new production facility that does not impose such burdensome surcharges. They hope to resume brewing operations in the near future and continue to provide their loyal customers with high-quality, handcrafted beer.
