As you may have read, back in May of 2021, Tired Hands was caught up in a series of allegations of misconduct across the entire United States craft beer landscape. All of which started when Brienne Allen posted anonymous messages shared with her from her personal Instagram account (instagram.com/ratmagnet) which detailed acts of sexism, misconduct, harassment and more.
Local Philadelphia area brewery Tired Hands Brewing had found themselves at the center of these allegations having a large number of accusations pointed their way. Many of which were directed at brewery owner Jean Broillet. The accusations, which included sexism, racism, and misogyny, would result in the brewing company ultimately removing Broillet from daily operations. (The brewery has since removed the Instagram post noting the change).
It now would appear that the former brewery owner is back in a public facing capacity with the brand. In a post on Reddit posted in mid-April, user squidly56 shared the following:
The post above makes mention of Broillet being in attendance and (possibly) pouring beer on behalf of Tired Hands at the Side Project Invitational, who was a confirmed guest according to the Side Project website. (It’s worth noting that as of this writing we have not been able to confirm any mentions of Broillet’s attendance).
Many users in the thread above noted how Broillet never truly stepped away from operations, but rather became a less public figure. However, there is nothing publicly available to support these statements.
A public copy of the Tired Hands operating license that was last issued on March of 2022 list Mr. Broillet as a 40% owner and “Managing Member” of the brewing company.
In addition to the details above, the brewery posted the following on Instagram which would appear as a re-emergence of Jean back to the brand.
We have reached out to Tired Hands for a statement on this matter with no response as of this writing.
