Lanahu Ales Has Permanently Closed Citing COVID Restrictions

We always start these articles the same way, but it never gets easier each time. While we love promoting Pennsylvania Craft Beer and all its growth, we know there is a side to it that just isn’t fun. And that is sharing the news that a brewery is closing its doors.

This is why we are sad to share that Lanahue Ales (Mountain Top, PA) has closed. You will not find an official announcement on social media or the web, but per the below email from owner and brewer George Merenich, it has been confirmed. (Breweries In PA received George’s permission to share this.)

Breweries In PA has received permission from Lanahu Ales owner George Merenich to post this email.

The above reads:

“We are permanently closed.

Couldn’t Beat covid.

Aloha

George”

The brewery originally opened in November of 2020 in Mountain Top, PA. Lanahu Ales was known for its Hawaiian theme, through the brewery and beer names, as well as its unique “Pour My Beer” system.

We raise a glass to the folks at Lanahu Ales. We look forward to seeing stories of the great times that patrons had when visiting the brewery.
