Larimer Beer Company Coming Soon To Chester

Larimer Beer Company is coming to Chester, PA, and it will be located right near the Philadelphia Union’s Talen Energy soccer stadium. They are aiming to open the weekend of July 6th, in which there is a home soccer game, with a mix of their beers and some local guest taps.

Originally, LBC started as a gypsy brewery based in Denver, Colorado. The brewery is named after General William Larimer, a Pennsylvania native who pioneered out west as a railroad baron and founded the city of Denver.

Matt Lindenmuth, who started Saucony Creek Craft Brewery in 2013 in Kutztown, is the man behind The Larimer Beer Project. Lindenmuth is a former X Games star, competing for 17 years in skating, BMX, and snowboarding.

LBC will open in a 3,000 foot space, with a small 3 barrel system. The newer building is located at the corner of Seaport Drive and Engle Street, with indoor and outdoor space.

Recently, LBC had a collaboration beer with Dogfish Head, a place Lindenmuth says he always visited during his homebrew days! To meet demand in the taproom and the surrounding area, LBC will be contract brewing bigger batches/canning at Mainstay Independent Brewing on Delaware Ave in Philadelphia.

Lindenmuth told us that while they are known for a variety of IPA’s and fruited sours, the goal is to brew many styles. The size of the system will allow them to experiment more. He even told us there is a Koelschip coming in September so they can produce some wild fermented beers, and possibly do bottle releases.
