Back in March 2023, we wrote about how Log Tavern Brewing was building a custom wooden taproom on a 9.5-acre property in Tafton, PA. You can read our interview with Ryan Scott, about the initial plans and what details were available at that time.
The time has come for the brewery to open the new taproom, and it will open for the first time on Saturday, March 9th.
Scott shared that he came across this property with an existing open-air structure planned to be used as a pavilion. The brewery then enclosed the existing structure, and added large robust windows, giving guests great views all around. The space is 2,400 total sq/ft and comes with an existing fireplace, bathrooms, and wooden timber roof making it the ideal location for the future Log Tavern taproom.
Inside the structure are the beautiful timber frames that existed before Log Tavern’s construction. In addition, the 9.5-acre surrounding property will allow Log Tavern to offer outdoor picnic tables for seating and more. Two outdoor pavilions will provide space for beer fans to listen to music outdoors as well as space for food trucks and outdoor events. There’s also a large stone fireplace outside, for those chilly nights with Log Tavern beer.
The taproom will offer 10 draft options to start, with 18 total taps eventually being available. Log Tavern will provide local Pennsylvania wine and spirits as well. There is a 10-seat-22-foot bar with seating for 90 total inside. Log Tavern will offer its own basic pub snacks and food trucks will be invited to provide an overall dining experience at the location.
Log Tavern has made its reputation of being a rustic welcoming brewery that locals can call home, and Scott believes that this structure and piece of property will help the brewery continue on that mission. To start the brewery will be open Fridays 1-9PM, Saturday 12-9PM, and Sunday 12-8PM, with hours changing around late Spring.
