Mad Chef Opening Satellite Tap Room In Lancaster

You can add Mad Chef Brewing to one of the latest breweries in Pennsylvania with plans to expand their operations. The brewery recently announced plans to open a satellite taproom in The Keppel Building at 325 North Queen Street in Lancaster.

For locals to the area, you may know this location as the home of Cabalar Meat Co. A family-operated company that believes in offering a menu of handmade, locally sourced, sustainably farmed meats. Which should pair well with the handcrafted brews Mad Chef has built their reputation on.

We recently spoke with Greg Kendig, co-owner of Mad Chef, to get a bit more insight into what guests can expect once this taproom opens.

“Steve Cabalar [owner of Cabalar meats] came to us thru a mutual friend with the opportunity to go into the space. From a culinary standpoint, it was an easy decision to say yes.” Kendig said about the initial pairing.

For those who are familiar with Mad Chef they know the brewery has built a reputation of attention to detail into all hand made items that are being served. As we found out first hand in our profile of the brewery. Not just their beer menu, but the robust and overwhelming food that is served alongside it. Which is where these two businesses share a strong bond.

With a total of 14 rotating taps this location will give Mad Chef the ideal space to offer the majority of beers guests have come to know and enjoy from their main location in East Petersburg which boasts 16 draft lines. The taps will offer a wide variety of styles that will even include a nitro line. With a crowler machine also onsite guests will have the option of taking any number of the selections home with them.

Mad Chef will also work with Cabalar specifically to create beers that will pair well with the menu being offered at the location Kendig confirmed. You can even expect to see some dishes and beers inspired by each business.

The new taproom is expected to open in early July. Make sure to follow Mad Chef and Cabalar Meat Co on Facebook to see what kind of excitement and creations come from these two creative businesses.
