Philadelphia Area Breweries Will Now Require COVID-19 Vaccination Beginning In 2022

In an announcement made on Monday, December 13th by Philadelphia Health Commissioner Dr. Cheryl Bettigole, any bar or restaurant that serves food or drinks will require proof of vaccination for entry.

The commissioner confirmed that “any place that sells food or drink to be consumed on-site will have to require that everyone who enters be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.”

The announcement, which can be viewed below, went on to say that the rollout will take place in stages. From January 3rd to the 17th establishments will be able to accept proof of a negative COVID test in lieu of proof of vaccination. A negative test “must have been from the last 24 hours,” Bettigole confirmed.

After January 17th vaccination will be mandated. Bettigole goes on to say “everyone must have completed their primary covid vaccination series.” Those who cannot be vaccinated due to age or religious exemptions will not require the mandate but still must provide proof of a negative COVID test if they are going into an establishment that seats more than 1,000 people.
