We recently had the pleasure of visiting Three Beards Brewing in Sunbury, PA where we were overwhelmed with the welcoming flavor and sights that make the Pennsylvania countryside so great. The brewery is set on top of a hill overlooking the Spyglass Winery located at 109 Carrol Road.
During our visit, we sat down with one of the three beards, Levi Strouse who runs the operation with the other two beards; Nate Badman and Matt Reinard (this is how they refer to themselves… and we are here for it). As the story goes “Three Beards Brewing is the product of endless experimentation, hope, despair and just about everything in between.”
The custom built brewery and taproom are housed in a beautiful wooden timber building that features a rustic feel that rural PA has become known for. The spacious taproom transports guests into a warm and welcoming space that you never want to leave (and with the food and beer menu you’ll see below… why would you?)

Three Beards pairs this scenic taproom with a food and drink menu that will make any guest satisfied. The robust menu features entrees such as duck breast, steak, seafood, and more. A custom made wood fired pizza oven allows the brewery to offer a wide variety of handmade pizza as well. And a kids menu along with nonalcoholic drinks gives Three Beards a well rounded menu that offers a complete dining experience for all those involved.
In addition to the mouth-watering menu, the brewery has a rotating draft list of 15 of their handmade craft beers ranging in a variety of styles. IPA’s, sours, pilsners and more make this a location with something for everyone. Locally made wine from just down the hill is offered as well by the folks at Spyglass Ridge Winery.

In addition to how much there is to enjoy on the inside, there is just as much on the outside. Three Beards sits atop a large hill. At the basin of that hill is not only the Spyglass Ridge Winery but a massive outdoor concert venue where the winery hosts its “Backyard Concert Series“. Acts such as Sheryl Crow, Chase Rice, George Thorogood and so many more have played for massive audiences in the outdoor concert venue.
While Three Beards Brewing was like many other businesses and sidelined by Covid in 2020 while they prepared to open, that did not stop them from moving forward. As Levi shared with us the brewery continued to work hard towards their goal. And that hard work has paid off as they are now operating a true destination brewery and taproom in the heart of Pennsylvania.
We recommend a visit to the brewery in Sunbury to experience all the sights, sounds and tastes for yourself. And be sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram to see their growth firsthand.
