After decades in the beer industry, friends and brewers Dave Sakolsky and Abe Goldstein have come together to create the brewery “they always wanted to visit”.
The result is Concordance Ferments, a brand-new brewery and restaurant that opened in early October 2025 in Hatboro, PA.

Located inside the historic Pennypack Mill, Concordance Ferments sits along the scenic Pennypack Creek. Built in 1724 as the Dungworth Mill, this building is the oldest standing structure in Hatboro and carries centuries of history.
It once fed George Washington’s troops during the Revolutionary War and served as a lookout post during the Battle of Crooked Billet. Over the years, it’s been everything from a milling factory to a teahouse and restaurant. Recently restored to expose its original beams and stonework, the space perfectly complements the brewery’s philosophy, balancing history, craftsmanship, and community.
The brewery’s three-story, 8,000-square-foot building offers something for everyone: a cozy first-floor lounge and bar, a second-floor dining room with an open kitchen and original stone walls with exposed beams, and a third-floor event space for private gatherings. Two patios overlook the creek, creating one of the most picturesque brewery settings in Bucks County.
The brewery’s name, Concordance, represents the harmony of ideas between Dave and Abe. The two share a deep respect for fermentation in all forms, beer, food, and beyond, and that’s reflected in their menu. The restaurant focuses on simple, seasonal food built around fermentation: think house pickles, charcuterie, and hearty plates that pair naturally with beer.

On the beer side, the tap list showcases a thoughtful variety of styles. Rather than focusing on one category, Concordance Ferments features a mix of balanced, well-crafted beers: a clean Italian Pils, a Porter with hints of chocolate, a crisp Pale Ale, and a bright passionfruit-raspberry Berliner. Each beer is brewed with precision and attention to detail, a reflection of Dave’s brewing background.
Sakolsky brings more than a decade of experience, having apprenticed at Hill Farmstead Brewery in Vermont and brewed at acclaimed spots like Blue Lobster Brewing and Black Shirt Brewing Co. in Colorado. Abe’s path began in the tech world, where he co-founded a software company, but his passion for homebrewing eventually led him to pursue this dream full-time.
Concordance Ferments is bringing something truly special to Hatboro. With thoughtful and delicious beers, a great food menu, and a location steeped in history, this new brewery destination is a must-visit!
