For those who are familiar with the naming structure for Second Sin Brewing‘s beers, you know that there is no shortage of “-Boi” names.
As Mike, Jake, and Phil put it: “When we decided to make this beer with Matt and Chadd of Breweries in PA, two of the biggest, self-proclaimed Lager Bois in the state, the name came naturally.” It’s true, we do love some crispy lagers and even called 2022 the “Year Of The Lager”!
Whenever Second Sin approaches us about a collab, we say YES before we barely hear the idea. And the idea list is very long, so stay tuned for more! These guys make delicious lagers and we couldn’t be more excited about LAGER BOI. This release coincides with Second Sin’s FOURTH Anniversary and has become a tradition for us to collaborate with them.
Lager Boi is a 5.5% zwickelbier made with all PA grown malt and hops. Zwickelbier or Kellerbier is a style of lager that is served slightly younger than normal and unfiltered. The malt bill is comprised of pilsner, wheat, oats, and Munich malts from Deer Creek Malting, and the Tahoma hops were grown by GEMs Hop Farm. The result is a pleasant, bready lager with a smooth medium bitterness perfect for pairing with a holiday meal.
To complete the package, Second Sin naturally carbonated this beer, and it will be the first beer poured through the brewery’s first Lukr side pull faucet!
Lager Boi will be available at noon on 11/22 when they open for their anniversary party, and the first 45 people to buy a 4-pack will receive a free I am a Lager Boi Tshirt (sizes limited 1 per person, 4 pack purchase necessary)
There will be 16 beers on tap, including 4 new drafts and a new barrel-aged Saison. There will also be special sixtels tapped, and special Firkins as well.
