Long time followers of the brand may remember a series of 12 Packs released out of New Trail
called The Expedition Pack back in 2021.
There were 4 total released, and each 12 pack contained three cans of four different beers, each in collaboration with another craft brewery.
This October, New Trail returns with one more installment into the series. The Expedition Pack
will contain collaborations with Warwick Farm Brewing of Jamison, PA, Human Robot of
Philadelphia, PA, Old Thunder of Pittsburgh, PA, and Tonewood Brewing of Barrington, NJ.

“The Expedition Pack is an intensive labor of love. We team up with friends I’ve made in the
industry to produce four beers that I think are exemplary of things we each do really well, and
are innovative inside their styles. Then we pack them all up together in one package for craft
lovers to find and enjoy easily. There’s no waiting hours in line outside the brewery door for this
one.” said Mike LaRosa, COO at New Trail.
Golden Hour is the Hazy Double IPA in collaboration with Warwick Farm Brewing.
“Every time we get together with the team at Warwick Farm Brewing, something magical comes together just right in those IPAs. As we pass into the Golden Hour, you’ll find the same again. We combined Mosaic & Nelson Sauvin hops with Paw Paw for overly aromatic tropicals. Get caught in the light just right with Golden Hour.”
Expanse is the lone lager in the pack. The team decided to brew a pilsner, make it lean West
Coast, and add citrus peels.
“Human Robot constantly brings about new innovations in the world of lager. We teamed up on something we call West Coast Pilsner; a traditional European Pilsner that we dry hop like a new age West Coast IPA. For Expanse, we also brought additions of orange and lemon peel early on in the brewing process. Just enough pithy citrus to shine through Citra, Talus, and Simcoe dry hop additions, all on top of the traditional European canvas.”
Beneath The Moon’s Shadow will be a big Imperial Stout with coffee.
“Our old friends at Old Thunder produce some very nuanced but very robust dark beers and stouts. New Trail brewers have decades of experience in imperial stout that culminates in our Moonlit Imperial Stout. We put our minds together and developed Beneath The Moon’s Shadow, an Imperial Stout brewed with coffee from Williamsport’s Alabaster Coffee Roasters. A velvety mouthfeel, carefully selected roasty malts, and locally roasted coffee all come together Beneath The Moon’s Shadow.”
Grassroots will be a Hazy IPA relying on solid technique and exciting hops.
“Tonewood has been refining Hazy IPA techniques in Oaklyn, NJ to develop exciting flavor profiles. Grassroots Hazy IPA brings us back to our collective roots as Hazy IPA innovators. We combined new craze Nectaron hops with long standing favorite Mosaic hops to show off in a balanced and flavorful Hazy that’s sure to bring you nostalgia and something new all at once.”
Fans looking for the next Expedition Pack will find them at the New Trail Tasting Room, and at
most stores that carry multiple New Trail IPA and large package products, but in small
quantities. Highly limited kegs will also find their way out to taplines, and all four products will be
together for a handful of Expedition Tap Takeovers across PA
