The Brewerie at Union Station is celebrating 20 years of brewing beer and serving food inside one of Erie’s most recognizable historic buildings.
The 20th anniversary celebration begins Thursday, October 1st, with the brewery promising more events and announcements as the celebration continues.
Dark Shroud BBA is back, this time after aging in Elijah Craig bourbon barrels. The beer has been part of The Brewerie’s history for years, including a previous release that sold out quickly.
History of The Brewerie At Union Station
The brewpub opened in 2006, after owner Chris Sirianni spent years developing the concept. The Brewerie followed several other businesses that had occupied the space, including Hoppers Brewpub, which later became Erie Brewing Company, and Porter’s restaurant.
The building itself dates back to 1927, when Erie’s current Union Station opened as a major passenger rail hub. Today, the station is home to The Brewerie, which has become a longtime part of downtown Erie’s beer scene.
Over the years, The Brewerie also helped support the local brewing community through events like its Brewers’ Cup competition, which brought homebrewers together and helped connect people who would eventually enter the professional brewing industry.
The business entered a new chapter in 2025 when Jessica Warren purchased The Brewerie after 19 years under Sirianni. Her brother-in-law, Tate Warren, also returned to the brewery as head brewer.
Now, one year into that new era, The Brewerie is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the return of an old favorite.
After two decades, The Brewerie remains at 123 W. 14th Street, still brewing beer in Erie’s historic Union Station.
