Acrospire Brewing Company To Move And Re-Open In New Location By Mid-April

Acrospire Brewing Company first opened in February 2020, at 1650 Butler Plank Road in Glenshaw, PA.

The time has now come for the brewery to expand. Acrospire is moving locations to its new taproom and brewery at 1702 Mount Royal Boulevard in Glenshaw. Their estimated time to open will be mid-late April.

Acrospire ran a Honeycomb fundraising campaign at the end of 2021, and all the funds raised from it have contributed to the opening of the new space.

We recently spoke with co-owner Eric Truscott to learn more about the space and what beer fans can expect.

BIPA: What stage are you currently in? Licensing?

Eric: We are finishing the buildout of the taproom, and need to move the brewhouse. Then we will just need the final licensing to open.

BIPA: Can you describe the space you are opening?

Eric: We are moving into a 3,200 sq/ft location (from an 800 sq/ft space) that was previously a bar/restaurant for the past 30-40 years. It was most recently the Shaler Lounge, and then the 412 Bar and Grill, which closed in 2019. We will use almost half the space for brewery production/kitchen space, and the other half as the taproom.

We wanted to keep the ‘essence’ of the old space while trying to make it completely different at the same time. Those folks that used to frequent the old Lounge/412 will remember their time there while new visitors will enjoy the new and improved space. Everyone, new and old, will enjoy all the natural light from the new glass garage doors, windows, and doors.

The taproom will have space for about 88 people with a small bar seating 6-7 and 16 taps. We are currently using our 1.5 BBL brewhouse still, but we have plans to upgrade that within a year.

BIPA: Will you have food at this location?

Eric: We will add a kitchen eventually but will offer some light snacks on the menu, like chips & salsa, and cheese & crackers, and will utilize food trucks to start.

Franks Pizza & Chicken has also agreed to deliver food to the brewery, and we are working with a few other restaurants in the area to offer delivery as well.

BIPA: What else should our readers know about Acrospire?

Eric: We want to be the new neighborhood spot, just like the previous businesses were!
