Profits from Beer & Boudoir calendar sales and donations will be distributed to the five fire departments from York and Cumberland County that actively fought the Hemauer’s house fire.
A Recap Of What Happened
On Monday, January 9, 2023, at around 10:15 PM, Mechanicsburg brewery owners Shannon and Brooks Hemauer, of Hemauer Brewing Co., realized the garage attached to their house was engulfed in flames. Within minutes of calling 911, five fire companies from two different counties arrived on the scene to fight the fire and haul in water.
The men and women from the fire departments worked tirelessly, and after several hours, were able to extinguish the fire. Sadly, their house and the contents were deemed a total loss—if the flames didn’t destroy it, then the water/smoke/soot did.
In those first few weeks after the fire, as Shannon and Brooks tried to navigate the world of rebuilding their lives, the community rallied behind them to a level beyond their comprehension, and now *THEY* want to give back to this same community.

The Fundraiser
Shannon, who has been shooting exclusively boudoir since 2014, thought it would be fun to do a “Beer & Boudoir” fundraiser wall calendar and digital lookbook to raise money for the local fire departments who fought the house fire, with a goal of distributing the profits to the fire departments on January 9, 2024, one year after the house fire.
If you’re unfamiliar with Beer & Boudoir, in 2021 Shannon and Brooks found a fun way to combine their worlds and cross-promote each other’s business by creating a marketing campaign that features past clients of Shannon Hemauer Photography posing with popular craft beer from Hemauer Brewing Co: Beer & Boudoir!
The fundraiser officially kicks off October 1, 2023 – the beginning of Fire Prevention Awareness month – and runs through January 1, 2024.
