Brewery Preview: The Ways Restaurant And Brewery (Glenside)

The craft beer scene in Montgomery county continues to boom, and joining that growth in 2019 will be The Ways Restaurant And Brewery opening at 11 S. Easton Road in Glenside. We recently toured this future location with brothers and co-owners Tim and Steve Way. Read more about their upcoming brewery from our visit.

Tim, the head brewer, has worked in the beer business commercially in the past having spent time brewing at Weyerbacher. As he discussed with us he enjoys IPA’s, Pale ale’s, Stouts, Porters. Guests can expect these styles, plus many more from this location. Their goal is to offer a wide variety of beer to satisfy their guests palates regardless of the individual.

“Tim’s enthusiasm for Biology led him to a 13 year career as an ER Nurse before training with the American Brewer’s Guild in Vermont and spending a year learning from some of the best in the business at Weyerbacher Brewery in Easton.”

This 4,000 square foot location, which was once a print shop, will have a 10 barrel brew system that will offer 12 taps with 6 of their beers being poured directly from brite tanks. Cider, wines and spirits will also be available to offer a selection of drinks whether you are a craft beer fan or not. They even plan to offer wine on tap as well!

As the name suggests, beer won’t be the only offering from this location. Operating a full kitchen will allow the brewery to offer patrons a full menu to complete their dining experience. With Steve’s culinary background, it makes him the perfect person to manage their kitchen. Formerly he operated a smoked meats taco truck and will be bringing his commercial cooking experience to the business. As we were told they will offer wide variety of food items from entrees, with vegetarian and vegan options as well. The brewery will offer espresso drinks, french press service, drip coffee and a selection of loose leaf teas as well.

“Steve, in addition to running the successful food truck business Smokin’ Tacos which was nominated for rookie truck of the year in 2013, has been crafting fine beers in his garage for 15 years.”

Take a look inside the brewery for yourself. Construction is still ongoing, but don’t blink, because they plan to be open very soon.

Not open immediately, but the future goal is to open an outdoor beer garden to allow guests a unique dining/ drinking experience. With plenty of space behind the brewery this will allow the business to offer an outdoor space that will properly compliment all of the action going on inside.

The brewery intends to be open this spring. The brewery/ restaurant will be a place where people feel comfortable and can enjoy fresh-made beer and delicious food, over and over again, leaving with a smile on their face and a belly full of goodness. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date on their growth.
