BRÜ DADDY’S Brewing Co. announced today it is the recipient of a Silver Medal at the 2023 U.S. Open Beer Championship for its Black Sheep dark lager Schwarzbier. The entry competed in the Schwarzbier category. Bru Daddy’s recently won a 2023 World Beer Cup award for its Red Ale Eddy, an Irish Red Ale. The local Allentown brewery has won five international beer competition awards and a PA Farm Show Award over the past four years since they opened in late 2019.
Black Sheep was also an award winner in 2020 at the U.S. Open Beer Championship and again at the 2022 PA Farm Show Beer Competition. Todd Reinhardt, BRÜ DADDY’S head brewer developed Black Sheep. “I love drinking this beer and I love brewing it. It’s a style that is challenging to brew properly” said Reinhardt. Bru Daddy’s is planning to begin distribution of Black Sheep this fall. “It’s a unique beer style that people will fall in love with” said Kevin Ryan, COO at Bru Daddy’s. “We are anxious to get this beer to market”, Ryan added.
The U.S. Open Beer Championship is an annual international brewing competition and is one of the top three beer competitions in the United States. This year, over 9,000 beers representing 3,017 different breweries were entered in the competition. The U.S. Open Beer Championship judges more beer styles than any other competition in the world. BRÜ DADDY’S opened a production brewery on S. 10th Street in Allentown this spring and is currently distributing their beer throughout the Lehigh Valley with Banko Beverage as their distribution partner. Haze Daddy, the flagship hazy IPA is a top seller throughout the Lehigh Valley area. Recently, the company began distributing their new light lager, A-TOWN LIGHT and their very popular fruited sour beer, Sour Senorita.
