Last year, we first introduced readers to Concordance Ferments as the brewery had just opened inside a historic mill in Hatboro. You can read our original story here for the full background on the brewery’s vision, the history behind the space, and how founders Dave Sakolsky and Abe Goldstein set out to create something different in Pennsylvania’s craft beer scene.
Since opening, Concordance Ferments has quickly become one of the region’s most talked-about new breweries, recently earning the title of “Best New Brewery” from Philadelphia Magazine.

“If you’re looking for a place to settle in for a beer, Concordance Ferments in Hatboro, which operates out of a centuries-old mill, feels like a welcoming tavern from a Tolkien novel (even if the upstairs dining room looks out over a Wawa parking lot) and pours a Nordic farmhouse ale so clean and sweet and crisp it may finally cure you of your IPA fixation.” – Philadelphia Magazine
The last year has been such a crazy ride. We have done some good stuff, made some mistakes, and learned a ton. It’s so amazing to see people coming in and liking the experience we are putting together.
The Philly Mag Best of Philly honor is so humbling, but it’s just the beginning. We can’t wait to expand our beer offerings. We have some fun offerings coming out of our new barrel program, and we’re excited to add those bottles to our menu. We cant wait to dip our toes into meads and ciders that we have loved in the past. Chef Max will continue to impress with his creativity, skill, and comfortable food.
We hope that people will stop in, grab a seat on our couches or at our bar or at our tables, and have a good time with friends and family. We can’t wait to see you soon. – Owners Dave Sakolsky and Abe Goldstein
Located inside the restored Pennypack Mill in Hatboro, Concordance Ferments has transformed a historic 1700s-era building into a unique brewery and dining destination. The space combines the character of the original mill, including exposed stone and historic details, with a modern approach to craft beer, food, and hospitality.

Part of what makes Concordance Ferments unique is the history surrounding the building itself. The brewery calls the historic Pennypack Mill home, a structure dating back to the 1700s that has played a role in Hatboro’s story for generations.
Rather than simply creating a brewery inside an old space, Concordance has embraced the character of the mill, preserving its historic details while giving the building a new purpose as a gathering place for beer, food, and community.
Founded by brewers Dave Sakolsky and Abe Goldstein, Concordance was built around the idea of creating a brewery “they always wanted to visit”. Sakolsky brought years of brewing experience to the project, while Goldstein transitioned from the technology world to pursue his passion for fermentation and hospitality.

The brewery’s lineup features a rotating selection of beers, including lagers, pale ales, porters, fruited beers, and experimental releases, while the kitchen focuses on seasonal dishes designed to pair with the brewery’s offerings.
In a short time, Concordance Ferments has gone from a highly anticipated opening to one of the Philadelphia area’s standout brewery destinations.
For Pennsylvania beer fans looking for a new place to visit, the Hatboro brewery is quickly becoming a must-stop destination. Make sure to follow the brewery on Facebook and Instagram for all their food and beer releases.
