Haunted PA Breweries To Visit This Halloween Season

Many breweries in Pennsylvania call old buildings their home. As with buildings 100 years and older, there come stories of them being haunted and sightings of other things!

Below is a list of breweries in PA that are haunted according to owners, brewers, and staff who work there. Have you been to any yet?

Make a trip to some or all this Halloween season, and maybe the brewery will show you some haunted spaces!


Black Forest Brewing (Ephrata)

Adjacent to Black Forest Brewing, is the 1777 Americana Inn, a so-called “haunted” bed and breakfast owned and operated by the brewery owners. You can read all about our stay here.


The Brewerie at Union Station (Erie)

According to The Brewerie’s website, there have been dozens of tragic and untimely deaths in and around the station throughout its long history. Dozens of paranormal investigative groups have presented chilling evidence, and that strange & unexplainable things happen regularly at Union Station to this day. Bube’s Brewery – (Mount Joy)

Bube’s Brewing is in a building that is nearly 150-years-old, and regularly provides ghost tours at the brewery. According to Bube’s Brewery website, SyFy’s Ghosthunters have been to Bube’s and confirmed that they have paranormal activity. Now, the brewery has a “resident” paranormal investigation team that comes to Bube’s on a regular basis to take brewery guests on investigations.

Hidden River Brewing (Douglassville)

Hidden River Brewing is located inside the Brinton Lodge, a quirky and haunted 300-year-old mansion. According to their Ghost Tour Site, “Decades of hauntings, a storied history, and original architecture from the 1700s make Brinton Lodge an unusual landmark in Berks County. Join us to explore its reputation as one of the most haunted places in the area, and one of the top 10 most haunted houses in Pennsylvania.”

North Country Brewing Company’s Harmony Inn (Slippery Rock/Harmony)

According to the brewery’s website, the location dates back to 1856, and that there have been “innumerable media reports from all over Western Pennsylvania account on the haunting of the Harmony Inn”.

Tattered Flag Brewery & Still Works (Multiple Locations)

It is thought that two of Tattered Flag’s locations are haunted, both their Gettysburg Location and Middletown Location. In Gettysburg, TF partnered with their close neighbors at Gettysburg Ghost Tours to provide a “Craft Beer & Spirits Tour”.

Dan Kulick, the distiller at Tattered Flag Brewery & Still Works, is also a tour guide for Gettysburg Ghost Tours and Gettysburg Paranormal Association.

Battlefield Brew Works (Gettysburg)

Located in a barn from around 1848, the barn and farm were used as a Confederate field hospital after the battle. The brewery has also been featured in an episode of Ghost Detectives.
