Mindful Brewing Company (MBC), a local craft beer and restaurant staple in the South Hills of Pittsburgh recently announced the completion of renovations and the relaunch of their newly developed restaurant concept at their Carnegie location at 1001 Washington Avenue. Beyond just a name change from “Asadero by Mindful” to a more streamlined, “Mindful Carnegie”, this location will feature some major changes from a full menu refresh to picnic benches and an open concept kitchen pass to align their locations under a unified brand.

Since 2016, the Carnegie location has seen some major transitions starting from its origin as an old-school Pizza Hut, made iconic by the building’s trapezoidal windows and ‘hat-like’ roof. Over the years this location became “99 Bottles”, which provided a sprawling variety of local craft beers to local patrons.

After a change of kitchen operators, the location changed to Asadero by Mindful which offered authentic, hand-made Mexican cuisine from 2019 to Spring 2022. Now launching Friday, August 12th, 2022 Mindful Carnegie is slated to reach its final transformation as a refined branch location that will offer a variety of food and beverages Mindful fans have come to know and love. Under the helm of Ryan Lyle, Mindful Carnegie will feature menu items such as Loaded Animal Style Fries, Mindful Salads, Smash Burgers, and vegetarian-friendly options like the Black Garlic Veggie Burger.

“We’re thrilled to be finally investing more time, energy, and resources to elevate the Mindful Carnegie location. A lot of consideration went into reinvigorating this space and menu and I’m confident we’ll have a lot of happy guests who are excited for a change up,” says Marketing Director, Zack Woods. “Mindful Brewing Co. is all about offering variety and something for everyone. Winner of the 2022 Best PA Ale Brewery of the Year by the New York International Beer Competition (NYIBC), Mindful Brewing Co. is a Pittsburgh local craft brewery with tap operations in three locations and restaurant operations in two of the three. With a focus on community collaboration and offering variety to their guests, MBC is excited to continue to grow and serve in the greater Pittsburgh area.
