Referend Bier Blendery Celebrates 7th Anniversary Saturday, December 2nd

Join the Referend Bier Blendery as they celebrate their 7th anniversary at their taproom in Kutztown, at 407 Old Route 22. The event will be held Saturday, December 2nd from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and will be a celebration in their “usual unusual fashion.”

While Referend celebrates 7 years in business, this is just their 2nd full year in Pennsylvania. For those not familiar Referend relocated their business when they moved from New Jersey to their now barn brewery in Pennsylvania. The blendery practices the “neglected art” of waiting, of letting nature run its course, to produce a beer of depth and character, inimitable through technological shortcuts or chemical interference. These naturally wild beers develop on their own timeline, with total production times ranging from nine months to five years, producing bottles carrying cellaring potentials of three to fifty years.

The event will feature rare and vintage kegs and casks of their spontaneously fermented beer poured in both their Barn Bar as well as Cellar Bar. Complimentary Txotx tapping every hour on the hour (their spontaneously fermented wheat ale refermented with local apple cider, served in a free-falling stream). In addition they will offer a blender’s choice bottle pouring station featuring a rotating selection of their favorite bottles from the library. They also have a ceremonial barrel burning planned if weather permits.

In addition to all mentioned above, a special anniversary bottle release is planned, featuring:

Tender Buttons Vanilla 2022 (spontaneously fermented golden ale refermented with local fresh, whole, ripe red raspberries and conditioned on Tahitian vanilla beans, 29 months old at bottling)

Olds (spontaneously fermented golden ale brewed in 2016 & 2017, aged for an average of 5 years, and bottled in 2021)

Olds (Still Blend One) (spontaneously fermented golden ale aged for 3.5-4 years in Chardonnay puncheons and bottled still)

This Is Just to Say – Jaune (magnum only) (spontaneously fermented golden ale brewed in 2016 and refermented with 2020 harvest NJ yellow plums,5 years old at bottling)

Tickets are $29 per person and includes a commemorative 7th anniversary glass and 4 pour tickets (additional pour tickets available during the party) + free hourly Txotx pours.
