‘Three Rivers Beer Week’ Kicks Off October 6th With Over 20 Events Planned Across 5 Days

When we had first shared the news on the newly formed Pittsburgh Brewers Guild back in mid-2020 it was shared that they would introduce their own craft beer week. Even before the news broke, we had confirmed (in off-the-record conversations) the eventual return of a craft beer week to the Steel City was a primary goal of theirs.

The most recent version of a craft beer week in Pittsburgh had been back in 2018 with 2019 marking the official end of this event. However, as the Pittsburgh Brewers Guild is now in year three of operation they are introducing their very own week-long celebration of craft beer.

This is why the news of the inaugural Three Rivers Beer Week should come with welcomed fanfare for anyone looking to celebrate Pittsburgh craft beer. The beer week will officially be held from October 6th through the 10th of 2021.

The week-long celebration will begin with “The First Pour” event on Tuesday, October 5th. The First Pour, which will be held in the outdoor vestibule at The Pennsylvanian, will feature local food trucks as well as a beer share with local brewers (including rare or unique beers from Brew Gentlemen, Dancing Gnome, Grist House, Inner Groove, and many, many more).

This event will also be the first official unveiling of the beer week collaboration beer; 476 Appalachian Pale Ale.

In total, over 20 events are planned for the week-long celebration which includes the Allegheny Six Pack, a Disco Boogie, a Pumpkin Fall Fest, and many more planned. Along with all of the events, there will also be special collaboration beers planned throughout the week.

One of those beers is a special cross-state collaboration between Pittsburgh local Grist House and North Carolina based Archetype Brewing. “Appalachian Sugar” is a fruited sour brewed with vanilla, cinnamon, cara cara orange, apricot, and cranberry.

In addition to all of the events and beer collaboration planed the Pittsburgh Brewers Guild will also have an interactive website set up where participants can plan and schedule their beer week to be customizable to their wants and needs. (Check back on the Three Rivers Beer Week website to see more).

As more information becomes available we will continue to update. In the meantime we recommend follow the guild on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to keep up to date on the week.
