As you may recall, last year Whitehorse Brewing released “With You Always” which was made in support of Ovarian Cancer research. The idea was fueled by Whitehorse Brewings’ former head brewer, Mike Fahy, who had lost his late wife, Darcel, in October of 2017 to ovarian cancer at the age of 33 after a 7 ½ year battle.
While Mike may no longer brew for Whitehorse, the brewery is still moving forward with a 2020 release of the beer.
“With You Always” is a coffee milk stout; which was one of Darcel’s favorite styles. This beer will be brewed in remembrance of everyone that has been lost as well honoring all that have survived this awful disease.
The beer will be released at the following locations on Friday, September 11th. Funds raised from beer sales will go towards the support of further research aimed at studying and regulating cancer stem-like cells (CSCs) which may be responsible for ovarian cancer metastasis, chemotherapy resistance, and ultimately disease recurrence. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this beer and raffle items will be donated to Magee-Women’s Research Institute & Foundation.
