The team at Woodhaven B&B And Event Venue will soon be joining the Pennsylvania craft beer family as they work towards opening their own brewery and taproom. Located at 749 Mill Road in Schellsburg, PA, Woodhaven sits back on a beautiful, picturesque farmland featuring buildings that date back to the 1700’s. Making this sure to be one of Pennsylvania’s premier destination breweries.
We recently spoke to Bryn and Dan Keller who have operated the business for more than 5 years to learn more about the future brewing operation and what guests can come to expect.
As the story goes Bryn and Dan met almost 20 years ago in High School. The couple opened the Woodhaven property with a shared vision in mind to “build a dream together.” The business is comprised of a Bed and Breakfast that sits in a seven bedroom farmhouse originally built in 1796. The space offers overnight guests rustic comforts in a warm, elegant and inviting space.
In their own words; “Woodhaven offers guestrooms outfitted with antique furniture, classic amenities and stunning views of the surrounding landscape with the intent to surround each guest in natural beauty.”
In addition to the B&B the duo also uses their 18th century barn as a wedding venue, and has performed over 100 weddings in the 4+ years they have been in operation.

Bryn, who is a wedding planner by trade, and Dan, who spent years cultivating craft beer menus, have now begun the process to pair their passions and skills to create a destination brewery that Pennsylvania will be proud of. Shortly after college Dan had spent time at the Village News where he would be responsible for helping the location grow their craft beer selection.
After years of enjoying craft beer he gained an interest in pursuing the dream of opening the Woodhaven Brewing Company. Brewing operations will be run off a 3.5 barrel brew system where they plan to offer a variety of styles. As Dan confirmed he is not particular to any one specific style and would like to offer guests a wide variety.
Woodhaven will also feature a wood fired oven to round out the dining experience. As of this writing the plan is to offer guests wood fired pizzas, appetizers, salads and other handhelds to pair with their beer. The taproom, which will be open from Wednesday to Sunday during the week, will sit in the basement of the barn (with an opening to the street) and offer guests the rustic feel the property has become well known for. Exposed beams, stonework, and oak trim will all be featured within the space that can seat up to 70.
In addition to onsite consumption, Woodhaven also plans to distribute their beer locally to other restaurants and bars. While a full canning operation won’t be in place immediately, they do plan to offer to go options in the form of hand canning and growlers to go. Their 8 to 10 draft lines will supply their draft beer along with offering customers guest beer taps and seasonal cocktails
Currently the duo expects to have the brewery taproom open by Spring of 2024. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with the latest news.
