The Great American Beer Festival invites industry professionals from around the world to sit together in small groups and, without knowing the brand name, taste beers in each specified style category. The ultimate goal of the judging panel is to identify the three beers that best represent each beer-style category as described and adopted by the Great American Beer Festival.

The 2020 event has come to an end and it is time to see how Pennsylvania did. Below is a list of all the Pennsylvania breweries who came home with awards:

Silver:

Brewery: Wallenpaupack Brewing
Beer: English Pale Mild Ale
Category: English Mild Or Bitter

Brewery: Attic Brewing

Category: English-Style Brown Ale

As you may recall, three total winners from Pennsylvania is down from the seven winners in 2019. We believe one of the reasons these numbers are down is because PA did not have as many submissions this year. Many breweries throughout the state have already confirmed with us that they did not submit in 2020 because of the costs associated with shipping beer to Colorado for the competition. They’d rather keep that money in house during these tough times. We have reached out to the Brewers Association for the complete data of who submitted to confirm if this is true. We will update as soon as we hear back (although in years past they have ignored these requests from us).

Update: The Brewers Association has confirmed they will not release a list of who entered.
