Style: Double IPA
ABV: 8.5
Brewed with: Oats and Spelt
Hops: Galaxy, Mosaic, Mandarina Bavaria
Allocated is a New England Style Double IPA brewed with Galaxy, Mosaic and Mandarina Bavaria Hops. The beer is a collaboration by Oaklyn, NJ’s finest Tonewood Brewing and Aston, PA’s very own 2SP Brewing Company. The team assembled in Aston to brew 2SP’s first NEIPA, which many of their faithful believed would never happen as we’ve been told before “we won’t be making hazy beers.”
Evidently Bob, Ruby and Chris have been working on perfecting the art of the style and enlisted their friends Tonewood, who are making some of the best beers in South Jersey to show them the way and make this delicious beer.
Allocated pours a pale, hazy, golden color out of the can and romas of passionfruit, guava and mandarin orange are present as the carbonation cascades up the glass to form a decent amount of head. Upon the first sip, the notes of passionfruit, guava and mandarin orange are present, along with a nice amount of honeysuckle as the beer finishes. The soft mouthfeel of the beer has those flavors clinging to your palate, enticing you to take another sip. Beware that this beer is a limited offering and definitely one to check out at 2SP in Aston.
While cans sold out at the brewery in just a couple hours, there are some cans available at PA and NJ’s finest craft beer stores. For a complete list to find cans nearest you, visit http://www.2spbrewing.com/allocated-cans/
