American Elder is a 8% ABV double IPA brewed in collaboration by Half Acre Brewing Company (Chicago, IL) and Tired Hands Brewing Company (Ardmore, PA). This beer was made as a follow up to their previous collaboration, American Youth IPA. American Elder is a combination of Tired Hands Death Tripper oat Galaxy IPA and Half Acre’s Now & Then oat Equinox, Citra, Simcoe and Comet IPA.
This beer pours to a murky yellow, and gives off aromas of citrus (grapefruit, pineapple) some lemon and orange, with a little malt. Tasting American Elder brings lot of pineapple and citrus with a full mouthfeel from the oats. We also noticed some earthy floral notes.
