Big Hoppa is a 9% ABV/15 IBU double IPA from Manayunk Brewing Company.
Pouring to a golden orange with a slight haze, you’ll get a thin white head that dissipates quickly. Smells of all the hops used in the whirlpool and dry hopping (Citra, El Dorado, Columbus, and Simcoe) fill your nose, as you notice this is a different IPA from Manayunk Brewing.
Sipping this DIPA brings all those hop flavors and malt flavors as well. Caramel, pineapple, and other melon fruit notes dominate on this one with some mild spicy hop bitterness. The mouthfeel is thin as this is a medium bodied beer, and the 9% ABV is hidden well. To say this is “dank” and drinkable is an understatement!
