Tröegs Independent Brewing Company has a reputation of seeking out new and interesting hop varieties for their beers. Golden Thing takes advantage of lemon-drop hops used not only in the dry-hopping process, but also in their HopCyclone process as well to infuse the hop oils into the beer. The can showcases the unique artwork Tröegs Brewing always seems to find with lemon branches worked into the label.

The beer pours a very slight, hazy, golden yellow color with a thick, white head. The thick layer of head gives off that refreshing lemon scent. The lemon flavor and wheat malt gives it the drinkability of a lighter beer while still maintaining the full flavors of a double IPA.

Golden Thing is exactly the type of beer that Tröegs has made an outstanding reputation out of. They’ve managed to create a dry-hopped double IPA that is easier on the palate from the refreshing lemon flavor perfect for a warmer day or cooler fall evening.
