In another move seeing the world of distilling and brewing blur the lines, Lansdale-based Boardroom Spirits, appears to be moving into the craft beer space. According to a pending license the distiller is planning to open Gamer Brewing at 307 Derstine Avenue in Lansdale.
Gamer Brewing will operate strictly as a production facility focused on brewing its own craft lines and offering contract brewing services.
The pending move continues the rise in blending the worlds of distilling and craft brewing. Something that not only Pennsylvania is seeing an increase in, but nationally as well. Data from the Brewers Association shows that total U.S. craft beer production fell by 4% in 2025. Furthermore, 2024 and 2025 marked the first time since 2005 that brewery closures outpaced openings.
To survive, the Brewers Association notes that companies have had to “democratize and expand what it means to be a ‘brewer.'” Stainless steel tanks are increasingly being split between grain mashes for beer and base washes for distilling.
To understand why this new direction makes sense, it helps to look at where Boardroom Spirits started. Founded by former management consultants, the distillery was built on process automation, data-driven decisions, and stringent laboratory research and development. They earned early recognition for eccentric, high-quality agricultural spirits before mastering traditional flagship items like their Fresh vodka line.
When shifts in the hospitality industry forced businesses to adapt, Boardroom pivoted aggressively toward pre-packaged, ready-to-drink options. By leaning heavily into canning and bottling infrastructure, investing in a major facility expansion, and optimizing their supply chain to process shipments rapidly, Boardroom transformed itself into a manufacturing powerhouse. They didn’t just survive changing market demands; they became a premier East Coast hub for craft beverage co-packing and production.
For the local craft market, this launch reinforces a larger trend: the lines between specialized distilleries and traditional breweries are blurring. Consumers no longer view their choices through rigid categories. A single gathering might see one person reaching for a bitter West Coast IPA, another for a rich stout, and a third for a crisp canned cocktail.
By housing diverse offerings under an umbrella that prioritizes community identity, Boardroom Spirits and the Gamer Brewing line are positioning themselves perfectly for the future of social drinking. It is a calculated play that relies on proven manufacturing efficiency to deliver highly targeted, beautifully branded liquid directly to an audience that is ready to play.
