Do you find yourself skipping over the pilsner on your favorite brewery tap list?
Judge the beer for its Untappd rating? (Which many great pilsners are rated below 4.0)
Do yourself a favor and stop doing that. Pennsylvania has a rich history of German settlers who created fine examples of this simplistic style that they brought from back home for the working class people of Pennsylvania.

From the German settlers came hundreds of breweries in the great state of Pennsylvania, including Wacker Brewing of Lancaster. Founded originally in 1853, Wacker Brewing made handcrafted beers in the “Munich of the United States” until it’s closure in 1956. Fast forward to 2014, Wacker Brewing reopened their doors to rekindle the legacy of Joseph Wacker by offering handcrafted, quality beer in Lancaster, PA.

Wacker’s Bohemian Pilsner is a fine example of the German Pilsner style. With its crystal clear golden color and effervescent carbonation, the subtle nuances of this beer shine through with each sip. The aroma features floral and fresh cut grass notes, honey and bready sweetness, true to a German pilsner. The taste features subtle lemon citrus, herbal grass, honey sweetness and cereal grains with a mild bitter finish. The body is light with a medium carbonation that goes down smooth and crisp, but not completely dry. Above all, this beer is absolutely refreshing.

“Wacky Boh” is the perfect beer for the warmer months to come and with its light body and subtle nuances, this beer is perfect to enjoy after mowing the lawn, at a tailgate or in front of the grill cooking up some Bratwurst… or burgers and hot dogs, whatever you may please. Be sure to check out this beer and stay tuned for more from Wacker Brewing! And follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
