Braeloch Brewing Isn’t Going Anywhere After Historic Kennett Square Building Is Sold

Braeloch Brewing has a new landlord, but the brewery isn’t going anywhere.

The Kennett Square brewery building was recently sold to Square Roots Collective, as reported by The Philadelphia Business Journal, raising questions about what the change means for the business.

Owners Kent and Amy Steeves say it’s business as usual, with a long-term lease in place and no plans to leave.

“We have had a lot of outreach asking if there is any change to Braeloch. We are happy to say that this change is just about having a new landlord. There are no changes to Braeloch and what we are offering the community,” – Kent Steeves

Kent told us the new owners want to keep building on Birch Street and are happy to include Braeloch. The brewery is focused on continuing to grow and provide the best experience possible for its customers.

The 16,000-square-foot building at 225 Birch Street, known as Brewers Row KSQ, sold for $2.3 million to Square Roots Collective, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Built in 1903 as a trolley barn, the property later served the region’s mushroom industry before Braeloch opened there in March 2019. The building also houses Chaikhana Chai, while West Branch Distilling Co. previously occupied another portion of the property.
