Stolen Sun Craft Brewing & Roasting Company is a very unique location, and one of only a few places in the state that combines craft beer, craft coffee, and a scratch kitchen.
We recently toured the taproom and brewery with owner Jonathan Zangwill. Having spent 12 years building and brewing at 6 breweries through the 90s (in Florida, Southern California, Pittsburgh, Reading, Hawaii, Cherry Hill NJ), he spent the last 10+ years in corporate sector (Cott beverages, Ventura foods, and Mars). Jon knew he wanted to open a brewery and combine his love for brewing with his coffee obsession, and food. Did we mention he has a degree in food engineering? He loves the science behind all 3 and considers it an art form.

Brewing on a 10 Barrel brand new Alpha system, Stolen Sun features 16 taps plus a cask hand pump. In addition to all of this, they utilize a centrifuge which spins the beer and allows them to “clean up” the beer making it clear and crisp. Also, they have built in expansion with a brand new canning line they plan to utilize in the near future.

We were lucky enough to try most of Stolen Sun’s tap offerings while talking with Jonathan about the styles he most enjoys brewing. What you will find at the brewery is a mix he told us. From clean crisp ales to your NE Style IPA, and then multiple stouts, there is something for all the craft beer fans.
Along with this huge taplist, Stolen Sun offers a complete scratch kitchen, making everything by hand. There is a variety to choose from like finger foods such as plantain chips, to chicken sandwiches, a “Cali-Rito” – a California style burrito, and the “Exton Cheesesteak”. Rounding out the bar, they also offer Pennsylvania wine and spirits, ensuring everyone can find something to drink.
Stolen Sun features 5000 sq. ft. of space, allowing you to be right up front during the coffee roasting, and also the brewing. There are a few seats with another TV back in the brewhouse! With plenty of parking, seating for almost 100, and an outdoor patio for those warmer months, you’ll find this is a place you can relax at.
Take a look inside this awesome space for yourself:

Stolen Sun is open Tuesday to Sunday, with coffee in the morning to beer at night. Grab a cup of coffee on your way to work, or enjoy hoppy hour (from 2-6pm Mon to Fri) on the way home. They even have a full breakfast available on the weekends.
We definitely recommend visiting the brewery off Pottstown Pike in Exton. If you can’t make it in, make sure to follow them on Facebook, Instagram or check out their website to stay up to date on everything!
