Chambersburg Breweries Rally To Support LGBTQ Community In Response To Borough Council Vote

In a recent 7-3 vote, the Chambersburg Borough Council voted to repeal an anti-discrimination ordinance that offers protection to members of the LGBTQ community. The ordinance (which was passed by a Democratic majority council) provided protection against discrimination based on race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender.

According to ABC27the council now has a Republican majority and council President Allen Coffman said repealing the anti-discrimination ordinance is what voters elected them to do.

This marks Chambersburg as the first municipality in Pennsylvania to repeal an ordinance of this nature. And in response to this news, all of the breweries located in Chambersburg publicly announced their disappointment in the decision.
