Dreamin’ IPA from Manayunk Brewing Company is a double Indian Pale Ale that pours to bright, golden yellow with a pillowy head that slowly dissolves. This brew is very hazy with limited amounts of light shining through its robust body and leaves a noticeable of lacing. Citrus notes, particularly orange emanate from both the can and especially the glass once it’s poured. Inspired by West Coast IPAs and their substantial hoppiness this beer really lives up to that claim with a hop forward flavor that definitely lingers on the tongue.
The substantial ABV, 8.5% brings an expected warmth; however, there may be some debate whether this tastes like an 85 IBU as it is undeniably hoppy and bitter, although this does seem to be Manayunk’s goal for this one. Overall this is a beer best paired with a fatty and decadent meal, a steak or burger would be perfect to offset some of the hop forward flavor and balance things out for your taste buds.
