The first round of our Breweries In PA Field of 64 Bracket is in the books. So let’s take a look at the results:

Our Initial thoughts on the bracket:
In one of the biggest surprises of the century, Tired Hands does not make it out of the first round! Given the lines TH gets and the way their beer gets traded on reddit, this is clearly a BIG shock. And there are some reasons behind this historic upset:
• Tired Hands didn’t share this bracket on social media. So a lot of their customers didn’t even know voting was happening
• The owners at Locust Lane have built a HUGE following, and should be proud of it. They did share this on social media, and while you may not agree, their loyal fan base didn’t want to see a blowout. And they not only worked hard to avoid that, but they brought the Underdog a win!
• To Philly area beer fans freaking out; should the Eagles return their Super Bowl since the Patriots were clearly the superior team going into the game?
To the Tired Hands fans out there; we’ve already heard from you. We are TH fans ourselves. And we are surprised to see this upset also. But this is all in good fun. Your TH beer doesn’t lose value on the trade market, you can save the energy of being angry. Have fun with this and respect that Locust Lane has a loyal following, much like you are loyal to TH.
Now onto the rest of our reactions to the bracket……..
Based on our data wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more people enjoy the bracket then don’t. (With over 70,000 votes you clearly love it). However we have heard your negative comments. So we want to address you all who are not happy with the bracket:
It’s just beer….. calm down.
We do chuckle a little when people tell us the breweries that were left off the list. There’s 250+ breweries in the state and this is a list of 64. That’s just basic math. However no brewery was purposely left off the list. We took the list from the top 64 based on Untappd ratings to start the year. That list changes daily, so you don’t have to read us the latest rankings. When it comes to PA Beer, we love them all!
Thank you to all the breweries who are having fun with this. That’s exactly what this is…… FUN! So next time you go to tell us how you would have done it better, why not just have a beer instead?

If you were disappointed in your seeding, or that you weren’t involved, we understand. We know you may think this impacts business. But also please understand something; our site has been running for 2 years. This bracket isn’t the first thing we’ve ever posted. From brewery reviews, beer reviews, news, etc. our site has been very busy the past 2 years.
If you really feel strongly about your brewery getting profiled on our site, just email us. We’ve been doing this for 2 years, and we love to support ALL Breweries in PA. If this bracket is your first exposure to us, don’t let it be the last. We don’t stop when it comes to PA Beer…….. and we will never stop.
