As you may have read, Pennsylvania recently announced that COVID restrictions on bars, restaurants, and breweries would be eased starting April 4th. The easement includes increased indoor dining capacity, the return of bar seating and many other details whcih can be found in the link above.
With the increase in customer traffic into bars, breweries, and restaurants the Lehigh Valley Brewers Guild knew they needed to do something to appeal to the state government to help prioritize vaccines for workers.
This is why the guild penned an open letter asking to help hospitality workers receive vaccine priority. “The driving force behind this effort is to protect our employees, customers, and of course, the general public.” The letter goes on to say “as stated in our letter, we’re hoping to see equal parts safety consideration as restrictions are being lifted. Our state officials need to be reminded that the food, restaurant, and bar workers matter a great deal, and have been through a lot over the past year or so. Vaccine prioritization for them is not too much to ask for.”
“We’re very eager to see all of our amazing customers again and get back to business-as-normal, but we recognize it’s going to take efforts and cooperation to get there safely. We also encourage other organizations and individuals to contact their state representatives about this, if they so desire. Power in numbers, as they say,” Matt Snyder, Head Brewer at Weyerbacher Brewing and Secretary for Membership of the LVBG said about the initiative.
Breweries In PA obtained the open letter to the state, from the guild, and you can read the full text here.
