Levity Brewing To Re-Open Altoona Location Friday, December 2nd

Levity Brewing first opened its Altoona taproom back in March 2021, at 1411 11th Avenue. This was a small taproom at first, serving just draft and to-go beers. The location remained open from March to December of 2021 and has been closed since January 2022, while all construction has taken place.

Levity is now ready to share what their vision was all along, a brand-new 2,400 sq/ft taproom, kitchen, and brewery. The space will open for the first time on Friday, December 2nd.

Visitors will notice a brand new 5-barrel brewhouse, as well as four stacked fermenters and a brite tank, in the first level/basement of the space. All of this is open for viewing, and you might just catch them during a brew day when you visit. This brewhouse will serve the location with Altoona-only releases, as well as some of the Levity staples you know and love. (Read all about the location below.)

Originally built in 1921 in downtown Altoona, the building has been used in many ways before it came into the brewery’s hands. From dentist and doctor’s offices to a jewelry store and teacher supply store, there’s no shortage of history in the space.

Levity has installed 24 taps at the bar, with seating for about 12 at the bar, and about 150 in the entire space. The taproom will also serve cider, seltzer, and Barmy Soda from East End Brewing. Live music will also be featured weekly as well.

They have a full kitchen here and will have the same full menu as their Indiana location. Tuesday through Sunday they will offer dinner, and eventually open for lunch in the future.

The team even used the original 1920 doors and floor joists from the building to make the taproom tables.

Congratulations to Levity Brewing on opening its second location! Make sure to follow this taproom on Facebook and Instagram for all the latest beers and news.
