Pennsylvania Loophole 4.0: A Collaboration With PA’s Smallest Breweries

First, we introduced Loophole 1.0 to you last September. Then came 2.0 in November and 3.0 in January. Now comes 4.0!

The premise behind Pennsylvania Loophole is to release a canned beer and allow some of the smaller breweries across the state to take advantage of a “loophole”. A loophole that allows small breweries to sell beer canned at a different brewery as long as it’s part of a collaboration and some contract brewing agreements are in place.

We are pleased to announce the next version of Pennsylvania Loophole, version 4.0. Breweries In PA, along with East End Brewing, and many other PA breweries are releasing the fourth version of this beer (see the full list of breweries below).

Pennsylvania Loophole 4.0 is a 5.6% hazy white IPA brewed with Belgian pils base malt, wheat and oats, Allagash white yeast strain, and Sabro hops. This beer splits the difference between a Witbier and an IPA.

“We weren’t sure if there would be continued interest in this project, now that restrictions are starting to lift. But the number of breweries really spiked up this time!” – Scott Smith, Owner of East End Brewing Company

Like the original version, this collaboration beer was brewed at East End Brewing and will be packaged in 16oz cans under the name Pennsylvania Loophole, then be sold by each participating brewery.

The beer will be released at the following breweries all over the state starting Wednesday, May 5th, making it to all breweries (hopefully) by the following week.

• Aristaeus Craft Brewing Company
• Artifact Brewing
• Birthright Brewing
• Bloom Brew
• Boxcar Brew Works
• Bucks County Brewery
• Clarion River Brewing
• Deer Creek Malt House
• Five Mountain Brewing Company
