Steel City Beer Terminates Distribution Relationship With Levante

As we recently wrote, Levante Brewing formed a partnership with Steel City Beer to distribute their beer to the Pittsburgh market. Unfortunately Steel City publicly ended that relationship through the following announcement via twitter:

Fueling the decision was the recent announcement of project Mercury that allows Levante to distribute their beer right from their brewery and tap room in West Chester.

Direct quote from Levante:

Levante Brewing’s wholesale model is and will remain for the foreseeable future, draft only. We chose to partner with Steel City because we felt we fit very well into their portfolio and love what they have done to bring high quality products to the area.  As with any other business however, Steel City has the right and obligation to do what is best for their company and their clients. We wish them the very best in the future.

As far as our Pittsburgh distribution goes, we have already contacted other area wholesalers and will be continuing to send our draft products to the area. Pittsburgh is a hotbed of craft beer and we just want to be a part of an already amazing beer scene.

However, fear not Pittsburgh beer drinkers, while Levante works out another wholesaler relationship you can still enjoy their beer. Project Mercury allows for the first ever inter state beer can home distribution.

Through Mercury, Levante will now deliver their freshest beer to anyone in the state of Pennsylvania, 21 years or older. No matter where you live in the PA Commonwealth, you can get the latest Levante can released beers delivered right to your home or office.

We will update with any new information as it is released. But for now check out Project Mercury and get that fresh taste delivered to your door.
