The cold weather has hit Pennsylvania. And if you know anything about the Commonwealth you know that means several months of blistering snow, severe temperature drops, and so much coldness.
So what do you do when the winter hits? Get inside of course. And if you are looking for a brewery this winter season to escape the cold, these options below offer some of the coziest settings you will find in Pennsylvania.
.
Stick City | Mars, PA
While the point of this article is to be inside a brewery, when you visit Stick City Brewing in Mars, PA you will find a cozy and welcoming environment in both the taproom and the outdoor patio. That is because during the cold weather Stick City does an amazing job of lining the outdoors with roaring fires, where they have most likely just cut the wood for that day by hand.
But when you get inside guests are welcomed to the most rural and rustic feeling environment Pennsylvania has to offer. Wood lines the walls with live edge tables and a bartop completes the experience. You round this out with some of the freshest, most crisp beer in Pennsylvania and you have yourself an amazing destination.
Stampede BBQ | Morgantown, PA
Stampede Barbecue has been in business for a little over a decade, but they only just introduced brewing operations in 2022. A very unique wood-fired brewhouse that is unlike anything that Pennsylvania has to offer. As a part of introducing this brewery Stampede built a custom taproom and brewhouse to house the entire operation.
A large fireplace is the focal piece of this custom, rustic taproom. High vaulted ceilings and the smell of fresh barbecue offer each guest the warmest and most welcoming environment. Each beer is poured off a special handpump engine brewed directly from the wood-fired brewing system.
Warwick Farm | Jamison, PA
Warwick Farm Brewing has been offering guests their locally made beer for years now. However, the taproom itself was only just opened in early 2022. The team behind the brewery was also the same team who was responsible for the construction of the space. And it is obvious that the same attention to detail in hand crafting some of the areas best beer was also used in the development of their taproom.
The 5,000+ square foot space features a wrap-around deck, vaulted ceilings, and rustic interior showcasing wooden beams and beautiful chandeliers that make for a must visit to get away from the cold. Grab a pint of one of their wide variety of offerings and a seat by the fireplace and there is a good chance you may never leave.
South County | York, PA
South County Brewing has been a staple in Pennsylvania craft beer for many years. However, it was in early 2022 when they opened a gorgeous new brewery and taproom in York, PA that has become an instant success.
A beautifully handcrafted 28,000 square foot building on 13 acres makes up the new campus featuring Douglas fir timber frame construction. The inside space is comprised of a production area, casual dining hall, loft, and event/performance space known as “The Virgil Room.”
Riverside Brewing | Cambridge Springs, PA
Located alongside the French creek at the former Riverside Inn property (which was destroyed by a fire in 2017) the brewery is housed in a historic rustic barn from the 1800’s. Originally from Cochranton, PA the barn was deconstructed, moved, and reconstructed to the current location on Fountain Ave.
Not only does the historic architecture and nature of the property draw you in, but the offerings at Riverside will also leave you continuing to want more. Their rotating list of handmade draft beer features a variety of different styles. Between the historic space, farm to table restaurant, and of course rotation of beer, wine, and spirits this brewery stands out to us as a must-visit for anyone looking in search of a destination brewery.
